Designing - Day 1

What I'm Designing: Maxi Skirt
Trend: Floral or Pastel
Difficulty: Beginner/Easy
Fabric: Sheer/Chiffon Shine or Iridescent
Colors I Like Best For Project: Mint Green, Pastel Pinks, Softened Yellows, Ethereal Whites

So there you have it. Today is Day 1 and today I look for fabric. My skirt is to flow easily and with me. To be comfortable and proper as well as including a romantic feel.

---- update
Well I found my fabric, I found everything I'll need to sew it and now, I've just got to sew it!

So be on the look out :)

If you like the design when I'm done sewing it, you like the way it looks on me - let me know!

Looking Forward & Something In Between

As a gal who enjoys fashion, I'm always looking ahead at what  I want to design for a future collection :) Yesterday I learned something that rocked my world through sewing and that is called the maxi skirt which I'll be making plenty of this summer! :D

ANYWAY I'm looking forward to a new fall/winter collection :) I've researched trends and I thought you should know what you should be looking out for...

  • denim
  • romantic mosaics
  • matte and gold

Sounds fun huh? Anyways that's it for now...

4th of July Fun!

As a young fashion designer I'm always looking for an opportunity to express my creative side. We all know that the 4th of July is coming up and - let's just say I've got a bit of ideas for the 4th of July :)

I love the 4th of July for a few reasons - celebrates freedom, brings family close, and is always a great time!

So I decided to bring those 3 elements into my 4th of July sewing project! What am I making you ask - something very stripy, stary, and fun!

until then enjoy this fireworks gif lol

Also be on the lookout for my designs - I'm working on an online store :)

Summer Trends 2012

So I really enjoy designing fashion and sketching...it's almost ridiculous - but not quite. I would love to design a few simple pieces that I can wear this summer. When designing I like to look at trends and then make them my own...

My biggest problem is sketching exactly what I want and never knowing exactly what I want to put wear or how I want the colors to be arranged...or maybe I do but it's just not quite at the point where I would wear it yet...

One of the things I've found helpful is studying and researching new trends!
So here are the top 10 photos that represent the trends of SUMMER 2012!

1. Floral Prints

2. Tribal Prints

3. 20's Glam

4. Sportswear

5. Sassy Shapes

6. Pastels

7. High-Waist & Midriff

8. The Drop Waist

9. Peplum

10. Birds

Well that's the top 10! Let's see what type of designs I come up with...
